The Museum of Childhood on the Royal Mile has great collections of toys and games from times gone by. A wonderful place to reminisce and learn about growing up through the ages. Barbie, Dr Who, Telly Tubbies – kids of all ages will enjoy an insight into the toys they and their parents (and grandparents) used to adore.

The Camera Obscura lies just below Edinburgh Castle and is surprisingly fun. Kids (even teenagers) love it, as it offers crazy interactive exhibits, games and weird and wonderful displays that will surprise and delight. Often overlooked, but well worth visiting.
